Tohru Adachi in Persona 4 Golden

This is going to be a storage space for videos that discuss Tohru Adachi from Persona 4 (Golden). Hiding in Private on Adachi

Not many people are willing to go to bat for Adachi, even though it seems that there are many people that resonate with his position. I notice that many critiques of Adachi address him as a character and what he literaly says, but no one really seems to address the strongest form of his argument. It seems that analysts and critics get caught up in Adachi being a loser that they forget that the investigation team gets to win, because the writers wanted the investigation team to win, not necessarily because they have the stronger argument. It may be the case that the investigation team does have the position that is most true, but rebutting Adachi's position solely on the basis of Adachi does not seem fair. Even if because Adachi is a loser. Maybe the case can be made that someone who has Adachi's mindset is doomed to be a loser, but that doesn't really seem to be the case, seeing as Akechi is in a similar position, at least on the axis of having no meaningful social connections, and Akechi, for all intents and purposes, is kind of a "winner" in the sense of being adored, having power, and being in a priveleged position. His abuse and sociopathic tendencies notwithstanding. Adachi gets caught because the plot needs him to get caught. He outs himself in an unmotivated fashion and this has always tasted bad to me. Akechi gets caught becuase he makes a blunder that he could not have possibly known was a blunder. Adachi looks stupid and Akechi gets to maintian his intelligent reputation. I don't know, but whatever the case, I think that Adachi's position deserves a fair trial indepent of Adachi himself. Even if the conclusion is still wrong, I think that addressing the strongest form of the argument will do more to help anyone who believes it rather than attacking the straw man form laid out through Adachin in the game.

I intuit that maybe there is some connection that can be made to Antonio Salieri in Amadeus. Soemthing about the Patron Saint of Mediocrity or something.
